The Problem With Reassurance

CNN's John Defterios says the US involvement in NATO has made it more difficult relatively for Ukraine's neighbors to step up. With some notable exceptions, Poland is pushing the share of GDP that they're dedicating to defense well north of 3% of GDP, which is a notable exception to the European norm. The problem with reassurance is that you may successfully reassure your allies and then not feel anxious enough to do terribly much more for their own security.
