The Modern World Outlook
The medieval world had been based on force and status. It's economy was compared to that of the modern world stagnant. Vast numbers of people throughout the whole modern period have adhered or still adhered to medieval values even when they have discarded the medieval religious beliefs. Many people who are completely devoid of religious belief still adhere to medieval values without the metaphysical support which a theology would give to such beliefs. These are the people I am referring to as the secular discontents of themodern world.
