What a Game Is
Jesse: I love the analytical kind of breakdown of this big, shaggy dog word game into these four elements, mechanics, story, est tis, technology. Even if i'm playing parchesi, there's technology, there's certainly aesthetics. The thing about story is, a little story goes a long way. In ot and parces, you don't go home alone. You have like, multiple different pieces, and then, of course, you have other people trying to stop you from going home. And so those are the two sides in gamesand they end up being stories that are worth telling.
