The Importance of Finding Mentors Outside the School System
Charles: I don't know what kind of school system we have anymore. If you want to be at the edge of understanding if you really want to know what's going on you have to find mentors that are outside the system because those are the folks it's the guy on the corner who's not part of the system, he says. Charles: In one sense I think you could take up any rigorous discipline because the whole point is to think rigorously. Once you've mastered that in one area then as if needs be you can transfer it to another and this is not well understood but but it is possible to do that.
