Is Psychiatry Able to Recreate Itself Over and Over?

Psychiatry has been able to reinvent itself over and over. I'm wondering if the fact that, so if it was any other medical profession, that was reinventing itself continuously? We broadly as a society are willing to kind of hand over the responsibility for this community. There's elements around social control, right? Take this problem and control it so we don't have to deal with it. This sounds kind of cynical. And I think, you know, I'm critical of psychiatry.
