Introduction

Chris Hemsworth, the actor who plays Thor in the Marvel movies, revealed he was at particularly high risk for developing Alzheimer's. He undertook a series of health and fitness tests including a genetic test for the APOE gene associated with Alzheimer's risk. The protein that's made from this gene helps carry cholesterol and other types of fat in the bloodstream,. But we're still a little bit confused on its role in Alzheimer's. Recent studies suggest that problems with brain cells' ability to process fats may play a role in Alzheimer’s but it is not well understood at this point.
