The Value of Mystery in the Occult
My criticism of the occult is it's not mysterious enough. It doesn't really connect with this sense of another place, another world somewhere else. I think there's so many tricky ways for it to creep in and dollar or deaden what could be the pursuit of spiritual capacity. If I have images in my spiritual experience that just reflect and represent the same kinds of sensory input, but I see them with my inner eye, they're still just sensory input ultimately. Then, am I really having a spiritual experience or am I just replicating the material world and saying it's spiritual because I didn't just see it with my eyes or hear it with my ears. I imagined it.
