The Right to Wild Camp in England
Up until a week ago last Friday the last remnant of the right to wild camp in England was Dartmoor National Park. The park had 70,000 acres of land where you could pitch a tent and sleep under the stars for a night. Now that was only 0.2% of the whole of England in itself so really just a sliver of land where this was possible. We wanted to gather people in a show of resistance to this ruling which is a retrograde step for access rights in England. This campaign fits in with a broader approach to trying to get back some of these rights of access which we've lost.
