When he was at East Carolina University, Mike jumped on a program called MaxOT. It's kind of low volume, higher effort, relatively low reps and one body part per week. He gained 30 pounds in the first year of college; if you lift heavy and you eat a lot of food, then good things happen. The CrossFit years were important because they helped me realize what I'm capable of.
