In 1989 the Muhushedeen drove the very last Soviet soldier out of Afghanistan leaving the often disputing groups without a common enemy. By 1996 the strategy had completely imploded in on itself and a war breaks out among the factions. This infighting would last four years destroying most of the capital city of Kabul, killing more than 50,000 people from the wreckage emerges to Taliban and they set up for all.
