The Importance of Aboriginal Spirituality in the Civil Rights Movement
The Civil Rights Movement had a huge influence on the way Aboriginal people were treated in Australia. The idea of like Blackness as well and the Black solidarity from the US was had a huge imprint in Australia. And I think that that ability to hold the mirror up in this country has been really important to creating change so many times. It's interesting because through the process of colonization, often these concepts of spirituality were often seen as complementary or in no way contradictory to Aboriginal spirituality.
