Dark Entropy

We know that the expansion of the universe is accelerating, but we don't really know what the mechanism is for that to happen. Some people think it might come from negative pressure, from quantum zero point energy and all the fields that are in space. But if you do the calculation, that doesn't actually work. It doesn't explain what we see. So we have no concept for this mechanism. We just don't know what the future of dark energy is. Will it continue to pull stuff apart and spread everything out and increase the entropy of the universe till an eventual heat death? We just don’t know,. because, again, we don't know how or why it turned on
