Using a Global Grid System to Subdivide Hexagons
In the library is they get kind of rotated one way and then back again each time you do this subdivision. This produces kind of a fractal shape around the edges of the cell as you as you do on the subdivision. In practice, there's a lot of things you can do that don't wind up with this problem. So it is possible to work with this in ways that are a little bit more exact to kind of avoid some of this.
