Is There a Qualitative Difference Between Hopelessness and Hopelessness?
Hindsight is relative to something that you value, right? Like you can't be hopeless if you're a true nihilist. If you're hopeless, it's because there's something of value that's not being realized. And so, if you kind of keep that perspective, then hopelessness can be a transitory phenomenon that maybe even helps motivate you. It recognizes something bad that's happening, and maybe it can motivate you towards whatever it takes to fix that thing in some way. But of course hopelessness is also a recognition that in some sense that can't happen at the time or at the place.
