The Fall of Gustav Von Ashmbach
Gustav von Ashmbach is a universally respected writer. Passages from his works are included in German textbooks. The homosexual poet August von Platten had also written some sonnets that came to Ashmbach's mind as he approaches Venice. Venice was seen as the home of modernity, mod cons, trams, buses and so on. But we're right to say he didn't go there hunting for prey, he went there for change.
