The Halo Effect: How to Make a Good Story
The tendency to like or dislike everything about a person, including the things that you haven't observed is is the halo effect. It can either work very well in your favor or very poorly against you. If there's one small thing, maybe the first time you meet someone, if they give you a sloppy handshake, you take that and apply a whole bunch of negative assumptions about that person. So we've got this ability to make a good story based on a limited amount of information to extrapolate in other areas that we're not aware of.
