Peruvian Workers and Peasants Against Pedro Castillo
The Peruvian working class, peasantry and young people on the poor were outraged by a coup. The US embassy was also involved in the overthrow of Pedro Castillo's government. A movement started with mass demonstrations both in the capital and in the Andean regions. This led very quickly to a general strike being called by the main trade union confederation for December 15th. On that day alone, 20 protesters were killed by the army, open fire on unarmed civilian protesters at the airport in Aya Kucho.
