The Harp and the Home

The only real-life harp I have ever seen. great golden column attached to a sliding arch fixed with gossamer-looking strings that caught the light enormous and imposing and alien looking maybe the only real- life harp I've ever seen. The parents suddenly beam some secret knowledge passes between them as they summon their teenage daughter into the room she plays. With a series of deft elegant movements music issues from the harp and fills the suburban family home beautiful otherworldly music. Many years after that night I was haunted by the sound of that harp without remembering its songs specifically.
