The Transcendental Utopia

From 1841 to 1846, Boston's West Roxbury suburb was home to this experiment in a transcendentalist utopian living called the Brook Farm community. There were approximately 80 other similar experimental communities going on in the US at the time. The founder of this experiment was a man named George Ripley. And Brook Farm was really unusual because it was the first community of its time that was secular.
