The History of Science and Religion
The 17th century seems to be the point at which science or natural philosophy begins to take on a shape that's familiar to us. Science is held up as this kind of epistemic knowledge gold standard, but really that doesn't reflect, in my view, what science is like on the ground. There's a lot more up for grabs when we're looking at the world than this kind of popular understanding of science might indicate.
