The nature of consciousness is t to be what, to be conscious, to know. Since there is nothng other than brahman, what is there for brahman to be conscious of? Your answer will be itself. The infinite cannot be known enough within in a finite act of knowledge. It's like the old paradox: Brahman must know, and yet what is there to know cannot be known. Then whatwill happen? Error. What happens is ma rror happens. As it is is infinite, unknowable. It will know itself as the unchangeable now - but not as it is. That's the nature of brahman.
