The Effects of Cheese Packaging on the Environment

Tesco's cheese packaging claims to use 41% less plastic than before. But when we analyzed the dimensions of the block of cheese, there is no way to resize that cheese to reduce its surface area by 41%. So we were absolutely correct. That was however, one aspect of what they did. There were three things they did to reduce the total amount of plastic. They reduced the biggest span and got rid of the resealable part of the packaging. And this is a big deal because for packaging, they work out the total carbon impact of the product as well as the packaging it's in.
