The Importance of Intrinsic Motivation

To build a rigorous classroom environment, we need to encourage students intrinsic motivation so they are not totally dependent on outside rewards. We can get too focused on the extrinsic. There's value and there's success. Students are more personally motivated when they see value in what they are doing.
