Spotify was born in an era where computer was the main device you accessed in and then obviously the smartphones came. We got very lucky in that first inning of that transition because our model was basically used it for free on the computer, but pay on the smartphone. But we were seeing this trend, which was super scary,. Our freemium funnel was dying because people stopped using the computer to listen to music and everything started being on the phone. So we thought that we'd have about three years to make the transition.
