How to Fund Novel Engines

There are only three engines that you can power a browser with. And when we're looking to fund work on these novel engines, there is, well, how do you fund it? The way I see it, a project like Servo is a more long-term bet for the future. Just because of it, if it's novelty in the way it does things, I think it has a great promise as well.
