Using hydrogen as an energy storage medium could help overcome the peaks and truffs of our future all renewable grid. When renewable energy is plentiful, we could turn on electrolyzers and produce hydrogen which we then store under the ground. That same hydrogen could be burned in a power station or used in fuel cells to generate electricity. And it's a really promising application because at the moment, battery technology isn't quite there to store huge amounts of electricity for a very long amount of time. So in that sense, hydrogen could be a really crucial part of our future or renewable grid.
