Gender Segregation Trends - How Did You Observe This?
The General Social Survey, or GSS, is a nationally representative survey of the U.S. adults. The study looked at gender composition of occupations from 1972 to 1999. It found that 34% of the initial downturn in segregation could be explained by this integrated trend among fathers. Fathers play a crucial role and their influence both drives the decline of gender segregation but also the stall in our gender segregation.
