The Hand That Rocks the Cradle
In the first scene of Sliver, a woman who looks like Sharon Stone comes home to her luxury high-rise apartment. This opening announces director Philip Nois' two primary influences: Hitchcock and Rosemary's baby. For me, these are reasons to kind of love it, while still acknowledging the ways in which it doesn't work - even if I think it's ultimately more silly than problematic.
