Aquinas' Definition of Passions

Aquinas is committed to passions involving physiological effects in us. When angry at injustice, we feel our body prepare itself for aggressive action. The passions involve a certain bodily response. Our hearts race with desire, we grow cold with fear. These are the fundamental passions and all other passions are combinations of these.
