i think this gets at something that gordan peterson and sam harris were debating, actually. The facts can tell you what is, but it can't tell you what you should do about it. But in tell me if i'm wrong here, because i'm still struggling to interpret rothbart. He's making the point that relativism teaches, in effect, that rational conduct is impossible.
