The Importance of Moving Around
A lot of people assume that if you have a spouse who's in the foreign service or a spouse in the military, it can be really hard for you to build a career. My husband is a diplomat with the US government and he has been working in the Balkans for the past two years. In my case, it was not a good option just for me personally. It does work for some people. It doesn't work for others. I think I have a good career trajectory that I didn't want to give up.
