When We Ceased to Understand the World

Benjamin Lava's new book is called When We cease to understand the world. In it, he looks at famous scientists on the cusp of unsettling discoveries. He says they're first people to have to react to a new idea that has no socialization or existing concepts. This is society's zero-th order response to anew idea, and so I call that the La Batutian phase after this book. And then I think of the subsequent phases as Lovecraftian and Balaradianphase.
