We didn't want rebounds bouncing all over the place. It could be over if it was overfilled. So we wanted to box out so we could get the rebounds by the basket. The rims used to be a little bit wanky. They're called toss back rims. You can pull them down and they go back up so that they don't break the backboard. Some of them are tighter than others. And when the ball hits, it doesn't go in.
