The Unintended Consequences of a 16 Year Old Woman's Conviction
Under Maryland law, the age of consent is 16. But there are other laws which stipulate quite clearly that in pornographic products, all of the actors and actresses must be at least 18. The Maryland Court of Appeals upheld her conviction as a purveyor of child pornography. This was avoidable all the way through and yet it wasn't avoided.
