Tantisb used the data available from the flight data recorder to estimate the winds that were present during the accident sequence. And their results estimated that the winds at the time of the accident were between 30 and forty five knots from the west. The captain was fighting with the wind his rudder, and right when he thought he had it under control and let go of the rudder, that's when they got hit with the peak wind gust which is what pushed them to the left.
