The Scribe Destroys the Houses of Widows

Jesus speaks to the crowds as sheep without a shepherd, showing great compassion and care. But he reserves some of his strongest and harshest language for the leaders of the people who take advantage of them and mistreat them. The story of the widow's two small coins needs to be read alongside this material. We've just been told that the scribe devour widows houses.
