How to Divide Equity in a Startup

When it comes to either a technology or even more specifically a technology company, every startup needs brains, sweat and money. Is the founder going to put in some of their own money? If they do, then they get some equity from the money side of things. And by doing it in this fashion, you feel that interest can be aligned and everybody's contribution is recognized.
