In Plato's republic, justice is not just about giving everybody indiscriminately what they want or what they say is theirs. At its best, it's about allocating the right things to the right people at the right time and the right way. And i think that that tradition has a nuance good understanding of the role of opinion in political life. But if you undue opinion, it can have social and political consequences that may be unwise, unjust to hope for.
