The Influence of Ida Red on Maybelline

Maybelline is inspired by Ida Red's structure and Patillaryk verse. And it wasn't just Bob Wills' version of Ida Red that inspired Berry. There's a blues version by Bumblebee Slim, which isn't a million miles away from what Berry was doing. The car horn sound of the guitar seems to have been inspired by a hillbelly booby song called, Heartrod Racer.
