The Role of Ultrasound in the Risk of Infection

There seems to be an association between the use of ultrasound and the risk of infection. This is all pre-pandemic. They also excluded patients in whom chlorhexidine dressings were used as we use, so that's a really important point because they were unable to account for the impact of VHG dressing on mitigating that risk. But it does underscore attention to sterile technique at the time of insertion when using ultrasound guidance.
