The mines on cyprus produced huge amounts of copper. Pharaoh's armies needed it for their bronze arrowheads and spear points. Other consignments went west, where it was mixed with central asian tin to make armor for misonian warriors. The web of copper trading routs centered on cy Cyprus was just one of the many different trade networks in the bronze age world.
