The Secure Attachment Style
20% of 12 month infants in an experiment didn't exhibit a secure attachment. When the mother left, they were extremely distressed. Even when the mat tries to soothe them, they engage in behaviours that are resistant. They start sulking, or are even being aggressive towards their mother. And this is known as an anxious, resistant attachment style. It's one that's permeated by anxiety and then a resistance to reunion.
