I love that point you bring up about creating opportunity because you're right. I have absolutely seen this kind of squabbling. It's very common on the job where you might have multiple people getting territorial at work. And if you are in any sort of group that requires a group effort to succeed, it's just not going to happen if everyone is ready to stab everyone else in the back. If you find yourself sitting at the wrong table where everyone has that scarcity mindset, the best thing to do can be like you suggested and create your own opportunity.
