The Importance of Prophylaxis in CAR T Patients
The infection toxicity is definitely a concern as you alluded to. There was one death from fungal pneumonia in that trial, and one death from, I think, I don't know, virus if I remember correctly. You really have to be cautious in these patients. They need a lot of prophylaxis. And for patients who already had a transplant but still have stem cells in the bank, I definitely push salvage auto transplant further and further down the line.
