Alex Chilton and Tab Falco

Alex Chilton was a Memphis musician who played Art Rock with a rockabilly slant that was like punk-ish. He joined Tab Falco and the Panther Burns on tour, then started his own band called Alex Chilton 3. At this point he's making New Orleans R&B bar band kind of records that don't really sound like his myth. The really good albums from this period is called High Priest from 1987. REM are out there waving the flag for Alex Chilton, waving theflag for big star.
