Nature Box: The Cost Sensitive Way to Run a Health System

The idea that folks in Singapore are cost sensitive in a way that we aren't, it actually just doesn't make any real sense. I think Singapore is fascinating and it may in a perfect world be a fascinating way to run a health care system. But here you pay much more to participate in the system. The cost sharing which may not be structured the same way ends up giving you a huge amount more exposure to the actual cost of medical care.
