How to Determine if Your Child Is Ready to Engage in the Work
Sally Kohn: One of the factors that you ask families to consider before they seek support, whether or not their child is ready to engage in the work. What are some of the things that you look for to just help a family determine whether or not a child is ready?Kohn: Sometimes it's easy to know they're not because they're just like, you know, I don't want to do this and there's just a lot of resistance. She says if kids show up every week for a semester "they're trying" And what you do is you stack that progress, you keep having more tiny, tiny wins.
