I would say that the state owns the means of production, but I think I'm just saying a flip side of what you're describing. You were describing it as a system where you're trying to de-commodify various elements. That's socialism. It can't just be owed the government pays for stuff, right? The economy is maintained exactly the same way that it is because that's just whatever you want to call it. If you want to use a bad name, you could say pity charity, liberalism or whatever... Communism is the philosophy. Marxism is the academic side. communism is the why.
