Teaching CS1 in Rust

The Rust EDU group is trying to make it possible to teach CS1 in Rust. Adam Cevallos says he still has reservations about teaching the language as a first language. It's going to be interesting to see either I'll be wrong, or we'll see forces try and use it and then realize that it's actually not a good fit for them.
