The Need for a Thin Witness Consciousness
Cognitive science is trying to pull away from this idea of a wit, like what I would call a witness in consciousness. This unified internal entity of some sort. It seems to me that the Buddhist doesn't necessarily have to though, right? So if you buy the idea that you can still have causality over time, even with these instantaneous entities, which the Buddhists are going to argue because they're not denying the existence of causability over time. But it's something that keeps me up at night, but I don't really have an answer.
